Cancellation Policy

Gate2Gate aims to provide a fair and transparent booking experience for both clients and Personal Support Workers (PSWs). This Cancellation Policy explains how booking holds, charges, and cancellations are handled.

Booking & Payment Hold

When a client places a booking, the total amount is authorized and held but not charged immediately.

  • The amount is only charged after the PSW confirms the booking.

PSW Rejection (Before Confirmation)

If a PSW declines or does not confirm the booking:

  • The client receives a 100% refund.
  • No fees or penalties are applied to the client or PSW.

PSW Cancellation (After Confirmation)

If a PSW cancels after confirming the booking:

  • The client receives a 100% refund.
  • A small cancellation charge will be applied to the PSW.
  • This charge will be deducted from the PSW's next completed appointment payout.

Client Cancellation (After Confirmation)

If a client cancels after the booking is confirmed:

  • The client will receive a refund minus a small cancellation penalty.
  • The penalty amount will be applied to the client's next appointment.

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.

Fair Use & Abuse Prevention

Repeated last-minute cancellations by either clients or PSWs may result in:

  • Additional penalties
  • Temporary booking restrictions
  • Account review or suspension

Policy Updates

This Cancellation Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in platform operations or legal requirements.
